In a private enclave located along Florida Bay an idyllic coastal Florida Keys property was reimagined and redesigned. The house, built in the 1950's sits at ground level which is unusual in the keys today. The clients are keen environmentalists and wanted a natural low maintenance perfect for the harsh island environment. Custom color-washed louvered fences provide privacy and a hidden front entrance. Rock-salt patterned walkways and patios were added and a bold striped awning structure creates an outdoor dining oasis. Among a “sea” of Dwarf Fakahatchee grasses, a curved ramp leads to the private marina close by for ease of loading boat suppplies. The clients, admirers of Debra's paintings, purchased 5 large scaled paintings which grace the walls of the almost all white interior.
